Arts Programs

These initiatives help young people enhance self-expression and creativity, develop multicultural appreciation, provide exposure to and develop skills in crafts and visual, performing and literary arts.

Art Club

Members participate in a variety of fun and challenging arts projects. Kids will work with many different materials that will enhance the imagination and encourage creativity. Most projects will take 1 session to complete. See the chart below for times and days.

Woodcrafts

This drop-in program is an introductory wood working class. Members learn to use hand tools to cut, file and shape wood into animal, fantasy and sports themed wood projects. Students then learn how to prepare for and paint their projects. Projects take 2-4 weeks to complete. See the chart below for times and days.

Please Note: We recommend children wear clothing that no one cares if they get paint on.

Advanced Woodcrafts

For the student that enjoys the regular woodcrafts program but wants to take it one step further.  Wood, plastic, metal and many other materials will be used to build and “plus” their design.  Projects with moving parts will also be explored.  Pre-registration is strongly recommended as class size is limited.  For further information click here.

Please Note: We recommend children wear clothing that no one cares if they get paint on.

Creative Arts

On Monday nights the Club is offering a creative arts program for members 10 & up.  Special projects that will challenge kids to think outside the box will be offered.  Pre-registration is recommended as space is limited.  Click here for further information.

Digital Photography

Come learn the tricks to taking better and more interesting photos.  Youth will learn about composition and exposure control as well as how to identify potential problems, and how to avoid them, prior to taking the picture.  Using either your own digital camera or one of the Club's members will have a chance to go out, take pictures, and edit them using Abobe's Photoshop Elements.  the Class will operate in 8 week sessions starting October 4.  Pre-registration is required as space is strictly limited.
