BOYS & GIRLS CLUB JACK CLANCY DIVISION
This division of the Boys & Girls Club is played at the Hanover School Gym, the league is “co-ed” for youngsters 8 to 10 years old. It is a recreational-instructional league.
The 2009-10 season officially started in December 9 with the Meriden Fire Department going up against Meriden Travel, with the “Firemen” winning a close contest 25 to 23. The lead changed hands several times and went down to the wire.
The winners were lead by Adam Bussell’s 8 points followed by Kyle Mullany with 8 and Joey Salafia with 4. Jon Cahill and Nico D’Avonzo did the rebounding with Jack Clancy and Patrick Carbone adding three and two points respectively.
The “Traveliers” were paced by Drew Siebert running the offense and scoring 4 points, A.J. Marinelli and Breydon Kennedy controlled the boards. Devyn McCarty was the team’s high scorer with 6 points. Jesus Colon and Andrew McCarty provided constant hustle with Marissa Gonzales adding 2 points.
In another close battle The Village Barn edged out Fosdick Corp. 21 to 17. Isiah Gaiter led all scorers with 17 points, Jake Baker and Jack McDonald each chipped in 2 points for the winners. Carson Coon was high man for Fosdick with 10 points followed by his brother Cameron with 4.
The last game of the week saw Stew Leonard’s overpowering Fosdick 23 to 14. The “Grocery Boys” were led by Andrew Ortiz and Javier Serrano with six point apiece.
Gary Costello added 5 points. Eric Pellegrino controlled the boards.
E.J. Dudley did a great job on defense.
Fosdick’s was paced by Carson Coon and Brandon Hernandez with 6 points apiece,
Marangelis Lopez was strong on the boards, Cameron Coon added two points.
The second week of action started with a defensive battle as Stew Leonard’s defeated the Meriden Fire Department 16 to 6. Conner Jandreau directed the offense led by Gary Costello, Javier Serrano and E J Dudley combining for 10 points. Erik and Ryan Pellegrino along with Sam Mirabello played well for the victors.
The “Firemen” were led in scoring by Patrick Carbone, Adam Buzzell, Kyle Mullany and Jack Clancy. The defense and board work was handled by Jon Cahill, Cody Chambers and Nico D’Avanzo.
In the second game Meriden Travel almost doubled-up on Stew Leonards 19 to 10. Drew Siebert led all scorers with 10 points followed by Andrew DiDomenico, Breydon Kennedy, Devyn McCarty and A J Marinelli combining for 9 points. Cameron Germe had a great game on defense, Marissa Gonzalez played a great all-around game.
Stew Leonards were paced in scoring by E J Dudley, Ryan Pellegrino, Gary Costello and Connor Jandreau doing all the scoring. Eric Pellegrino played well on defense and on the boards with Matt Costello dishing the rock ala Steve Nash.
The Village Barn topped the Meriden Fire Department 26 to 13, Isiah Gaiter led all scorers with 12 points, Jake Baker and Dylan Retzlaff combining for 9. Ryan Daniels
directed the offense with Nick Martone and Brian Carabetta controlling the back boards.
The Firemen were paced by Kyle Mullany’s 6 points Max Mariano added 4 with Jack Clancy chipping in with 2. Adam Buzzell, Jon Cahill, Nico D”Avanzo and Cody Chambers played well for the Firemen.
In game one, Fosdick topped Stew Leonard’s 24 to 16. Cameron Coon tallied 10 points for the victors with Maleek Myers adding 8. Kyle Parmelee and Myer’s led the defensive effort in shutting down the Grocers.

Meriden Travel outscored the Meriden Fire Department 30 to 17. The Travelers had balanced scoring from Drew Siebert 9 points, Andrew DiDomenico 8 points, and Marissa Gonzalez 7 points. A J Marinelli added 3.
The Firemen were led in scoring by Adam Buzzell with 5 points, Kyle Mullany, Joey Salafia and Max Marino each scored 4. Jon Cahill was outstanding on defense and rebounding.
In game three Stew Leonard’s almost doubled up on Meriden Travel 29 to 15. Gary Costello was the games high scorer with 11 points, teammates Erik Pellegrino and E. J. Dudley added 6 apiece with Sam Mirabello, Javier Serrano and Connor Jandreau chipping in with 2 each. Matt Costello and brother Gary rebounded well, Mirabello played solid defense and Pellegrino contributed several nice passes.
Devyn McCarty had a career game scoring 9 points for the Travelers with Breyden Kennedy and Andrew DiDomenico scoring 4 and 3 points respectively. Drew Siebert directed the offense, Cameron Germe, Jesus Colon and Andrew McCarty continued their improved play. Marissa Gonzalez sparked the defense.
The Meriden Fire Department “Burned” the Village Barn 28 to 27 in “Overtime”. Kyle Mullany had the hot hand for the winners with 8 points but it was his 2 big shots on “O.T” that won the game. The winning shot came on an assist from Nico D’Avanzo. Adam Buzzell and Jon Cahill had 6 apiece; Joey Salafia added 4 with Jack Clancy, Patrick Carbone chipping in with 2 apiece.
It was a very tough game for The Village Barn to lose. Isiah Gaiter had an outstanding all around game scoring 15 points. Dylan Retzlaff, Jake Baker and Jack McDonald rounded out the scoring with 6, 4 and 2 points respectively.
In last game of the week The Village Barn reversed their fortune with a close win over Fosdick Corporation 18 to 16. “The Barn” was again paced by “high scoring” Isiah Gaiter with 12 points. Gaiter also provided dramatics with his game winning basket.
Dylan Retzlaff scored 4 with Jake Baker adding 2.
Fosdick was led by Cameron Coon’s 8 points, Carson Coon and Brandon Hernandez added 4 each. Ryan Greene played outstanding defense while Marangelis Lopez and Aiden Fritz showed a lot of hustling in playing a fine game.
In a high scoring, tightly contested battle Meriden Travel edged Fosdick Corporation
34 to 33. Andrew DiDomenico paced the winners with 15 points followed by Drew Siebert with 8 and Devyn McCarty with 5. A. J. Marinelli added a basket with
Jesus Colon also scoring, blocking a key shot and adding some key board work. McCarty and Cameron Germe played good all around games.
Cameron Coon was the games high scorer with 19 points followed by Maleek Myers and Carson Coon with 8 and 4 points respectfully. Coach Coon felt his team played a very competitive game against a tough opponent; he singled out Ryan Greene and Aiden Fritz for their outstanding defensive play.
In another close battle Stew Leonard’s topped The Meriden Fire Fighters 20 to 19. The “Grocery Boys” were led in scoring by E. J. Dudley’s 10 points, Erik Pellegrino and Gary Costello added 4 apiece with Conner Jandreau chipping in with 2. Sam Mirabello played great defense and rebounded well, Andrew Ortiz also rebounded well for the victors.
The Firemen were led by Kyle Mullany’s 10 points and Adam Buzzell’s 9. Jon Cahill and Nico D’Avanzo did great job on the boards, while Cody Chambers and Jack Clancy played aggressive defense.
Cameron Coon was the games high scorer with 12 points in Fosdick Corporation’s 24 to 20 win over the Meriden Firefighters. Maleek Myers and Carson Coon contributed 4 points. Ryan Greene was the defensive player of the game with Kyle Parmelee getting his first hoop of the season!
Adam Buzzell led Fire Fighters in scoring with 10 pointes followed by Nico D’Avanzo with 4 and Kyle Mullany with 3. Jon Cahill and Jack Clancy rounded out the scoring. Joey Salafia and Patrick Carbone led the defense.
Isiah Gaiter was the games high scorer, leading the Village Barn over Stew Leonard’s
17 to 16 in a real defensive battle. Nick Martone , Jack McDonald and Jake Baker rounded out the scoring.
Stew Leonard’s showed a balanced scoring with Gary Costello, Eric Pellegrino, Javier Serrano and E.J. Dudley each scoring 4 points. Ryan Pellegrino and Conner Jandreau played excellent defense.
Meriden Travel overcame the Meriden Fire Department 34 to 18. Drew Siebert led the “Travelers” with 14 points followed by Breyden Kennedy with 10, Andrew DiDomenico with 6, Cameron Germe with 4 and Marissa Gonzalez added 2. Andrew and Devyn McCarty played well on defense.
The Firemen featured a balanced offense with six played chipping in; Adam Buzzell, Jon Cahill and Max Marino had 4, Joey Salafia, Patrick Carbone and Cody Chambers had 2 apiece.
Fosdick Corporation defeated Stew Leonard’s 21 to 18. The “Warehouse Men” showed an even scoring attack with Cameron Coon leading the way with 9 points, Carson Coon 5, Brandan Hernandez 4 and Maleek Myers 3. Aidan Fritz was the defensive player of the game with Mara Lopez and Ryan Greene displayed great rebounding.
Javier Serrano paced the “Grocery Men” leading all scorers with 11 points, E.J. Dudley and Gary Costello added 3 apiece. Ryan Pellegrino, Dudley and Conner Jandreau did a great job on the boards.

Ryan Daniels, Jake Baker and Jack McDonald led the defense for the “Barn”.
The Firefighters were led in scoring by Adam Buzzell and Jon Cahill. Jack Clancy, Kyle Mullany and Max Marino also played well on offense. The defense was led by Patrick Carbone, Jon Cahill and Nico D’Avanzo.
2010 BOYS & GIRLS CLUB BASKETBALL CLANCY DIVISION
In a low scoring defensive battle Village Barn edged out Fosdick Corporation 14 to 12. Isiah Gaiter led the winners with 6 points followed by Nick Martone and Jake Baker with 4 each.
Fosdick was paced by Cameron Coon leading all scorers with 10 points, Maleek Myers added a basket to round out the scoring. Carson Coon played tough defense.
Meriden Travel tripped up Stew Leonard’s 22 to 17, the Travelers were led in scoring by Andrew DiDomenico’s 12 points followed by Drew Siebert and A. J. Marinelli with 4 apiece and Breyden Kennedy added 2. Marissa Gonzalez, Andrew McCarty and Jesus Colon led the defense. Cameron Germe and Devyn McCarty were devastating on the boards.
Stew Leonards featured a balanced scoring attach, E. J. Dudley had 6, Gary Costello 4, Erik Pellegrino 3, Matt Costello and Conner Jandreau each had 2. Sammy Mirabello played great defense and rebounded well.
Erik Pellegrino led Stew Leonard’s with 9 points in a close win over the Meriden Fire Fighters 25 to 20. Connor Jandreau added 5 points, followed by Javier Serrano and Ryan Pellegrino with 4 and 2 points respectively. Gary Costello made some great passes and Sammy Mirabello rebounded well.
The Firemen were led by Kyle Mullany’s 9 points followed by Adam Buzzell and Nico D’Avonzo with 4 and 3 points respectively, Joey Salafia and Jack Clancy chipped in with 2 apiece. Jon Cahill and Cody Chamber led the defense.
In a very close game Meriden Travel continued their winning ways with a 25 to 22 victory over Fosdick Corporation. Andrew DiDomenico and Drew Siebert led the winners with 7 points each, A. J. Marinelli added 6, Andrew McCarty added 2 points.. Cameron Germe led an outstanding defense. Marissa Gonzalez and Jesus Colon also played well on defense.
Fosdick was paced by Maleek Myer’s seven points followed by Cameron Coon and Marangelis Lopez with 5 and 4 points respectively. Lopez played a great game all around. Ryan Greene and Carson Coon played great defense.
